Consider it a close cousin to the old fashioned, here for the summer to add some refreshment to your cocktail palatte. The Whiskey Smash is one of the quickest and tastiest drinks to add a little buzz to your backyard drink menu.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ounces Makers Mark Bourbon

  • Half a lemon, cut into quarters

  • 2 or 3 fresh mint leaves

  • .75 oz Simple syrup

  • Sprig of fresh mint

  • Lemon wheel for garnish

Directions

  • Muddle the lemon, mint leaves, and simple syrup in the bottom of a Boston shaker.
  • Add the bourbon and ice cubes and shake well.
  • Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Garnish with the mint sprig and lemon wheel.
